Welcome to Squirrel Class
Many of you ask how to help your child at home. Here are some ideas
-
We would like to encourage your child to become increasingly independent and learn to take responsibility for their belongings by putting their coat, book bag and PE kit on their peg. Every day all reading books and diaries need to be put in the red tray outside the classroom.
-
Reading: Listen to your child read their school book and please initial in the yellow diary when you have heard them. Remember to ask questions such as What might happen next? Or Why did that character behave like that?
-
We are always looking for extra support with hearing readers and if you can regularly commit each week we would love to hear from you.
-
We now have a make and do area to enable the children to create and construct so any small junk modelling would be very useful. In addition, if you are doing a clear out we are always on the lookout for jigsaws and Orchard boxed games.
-
Finally, if you would like a word with us about your child or any concerns, the best time is usually at the end of the day when we will be very happy to meet with you.
